That's my cat's favorite game! I shake the sheets and she dives under and goes crazy. And she makes the weirdest noises as she darts around underneath the sheet.
it's me and my boy Momo's favourite game. I try to change the sheets more often so that i can watch him appearing from nowhere and jumping lightning speed underneath them. Then we laugh and meow and meow.
There's also a reverse version: when you want to remove the sheets and the cat pretends to fall asleep immediately on them and eats your hands if you try to move her.
Glad to know other people have the reverse version too! These comics along with the comments have made for an amazing support group. C.at A.ddicts A.nonymous??
This happened to my mother with our first cat. He came up into the bedroom, and then she lost sight of him until she finished the bed and found there was a large (21lb) lump in it. He also got under the tablecloth when she was laying the table. Our present cat doesn't do that: when I change my sheets she sits beside me as I change the pillowcases to ask for strokes, or looks at herself in the mirror.
We have always had at least one cat that likes this game. Right now we have a one year old, Ubbi (Ullegull), who loves it. As soon as he spots me making the bed, he comes flying!
Some of the older cats don't like the idea of making beds, though, as they claim I always do it once they've lied down and try to sleep. In such cases I just lift duvet and cat and all off the bed first. Sometimes the cat keeps sleeping on the pile on the floor, but most of the time they get offended and walk away with a huff.
Cats are mind-readers. That's how they always seem to know when they're 'needed' at whatever activity that will be undertaken where they would be most (in our opinions) in the way.
My cats hate it when I try to make the bed while they're sleeping so they usually leave but twice Olly wouldn't get off the bed so just put the fitted sheet on right over him. Me and my bf laughed ourselves silly as he crawled around (slowly) trying to find the way out, he's so funny sometimes.
We have to lock our cats out of the bedroom. We have two, and they tag team us. One will lie on the bed and the other will lie on the fresh laundry. If we move only one of them, the one we did not move will bolt to take their place, and then when we put the one down they will take up the second post. If we both pick up cats to move them...two humans, holding two cats, is a win for the cats.
EVERY single time I make the bed!
ReplyDeleteHahaha pretty much. He loves to jump.on yhe bed when i put on the fitted sheet, haha.

DeleteLOVE! My Bosco does this every time, he seems to appear from no where whenever I make the bed. He still makes me laugh, 8 years later ;)
ReplyDeleteOnly my "girl" is doing that; not my two "boys". I always try to put on the fitted sheet when she is in their playground (a fenced yard).
ReplyDeleteSomehow you always hit them spot on ^^
The only thing our cats do differently is sticking their feet up into the top sheet. Especially if we tickle them.
ReplyDeleteMy Ziggy awaits the bed is OK. Then he crawls under the duvet till the middle of the (big) bed, and has a nap ...
ReplyDeleteHappens without fail. Or I've made the bed successfully only to come back 20 minutes later to find a lump.

ReplyDeleteMy Akane <3 She loves to hide herself under the blankets, behind the curtains, etc. ^_^
ReplyDeleteEvery morning...every time I make the bed, every day. :p

ReplyDelete*Bed-making. Even MORE fun with multiple bedlumps. Er, CATS*
ReplyDeletewhy do they always do that! and I can't ever put a sheet of paper on the floor without the cat crawling underneath.

ReplyDeleteOur boy cat does this... he can *hear* sheets being unfolded and will even run in from playing outside! A favorite =)
ReplyDeleteLol one of my cats used to do this ALL the time!!

ReplyDeleteEvery time I make a bed in my house, my cat Mae comes and sits under the duvet. It's like she has a 6th sense for it.
