When I got my first cat with the bf she wasn't allowed in the bedroom at all, now, 18 months later, we have 2 cats and 2 fosters and he's sad if they don't snuggle him at night!
I get lonely if I have to spend the night somewhere and sleep without my kitties. I spent the night with a friend who has two dogs and a cat at the time; the lab-pit bull mix slept on my feet, the lhasa mix slept curled up against me, and the cat slept at my head. It was heavenly.
My kitty sleeps in my bed. She takes up a human sized spot on the bed since she has to be right next to me. My poor husband has just enough space to sleep on his side and she never cuddles with him unless Im not home to cuddle with.
Mira, Lishy - I have exacty the same situation! Our cat usualy sleeps on our bed, worse, she sleeps under the quilt! she would stay near my head, purr and then I have to lift the quilt and she crawls in. :D cute...
Oh, my cats don't sleep ON my bed, they sleep IN my bed, under the duvet. I have been known to get up in the middle of the night to get myself a blanket when the cats have stolen the whole duvet from me. :-)
Cats in this household sleep MOSTLY in the bed. That is, when all four of then want to coexist in the same bed, which is not very often (my Birman Queen has a temper). So usually we have at least one, most likely two or three cats in bed and very occasionally four (and those occurances are very easy to notice because I wake up stiff as a board and with a sore nose due to one cat lying on my stomach and my Birman Queen lying on my arm, not tolerating movement and enthusiastically washing my face every time she wakes up for a stretch...
Do you happen to use a smelly fabric softener when you clean your bedding? With cats sensitive to smell, he may not like your choice of cleaning products.
My cat always sleeps on my bed. I can't relax properly unless she's there. She never nags me to get up early and is always happy to snooze just a little longer. She's also The Most Beautiful Cat in the World so I'm a very lucky human. :-)
I believe the most kittehs that have slept with me at once was 7. My little Feisty Fiona is the one that snuggles the most though. She loves to tuck herself under my chin. I miss them when I travel...
I have to laugh. Before we found an apartment that allowed cats, my hubby said a kitty would never sleep in our bed. Big liar! He doesn't realize they give you one look and steal your soul and fill it with butterflies and glitter! One of the two kitties will sleep with me at any given time. Sometimes they will take turns, Bella Mae isn't a huge fan of Cordelia Joy and her energy. Only once did I get a scratch on my face. Bella Mae walked on my face while I was sleeping and got me with her back claws. I had an "M" on the side of my jaw.
last week when my bf spent the night at my house, we woke up with my 3 cats sleeping on my bed. I mean, they WERE sleeping and suddenly they're fighting, so we woke up with 3 cats slapping themselves and rolling over us...
I used to have a kitty that slept with me all the time, but he passed away last February, and I miss that so much! I now have a year old kitty that will occasionally sleep with me, and I feel like I have been gifted by a special visit whenever she does!! I'm hoping as they get older she -and- her brother might want to cuddle more and sleep with me more. :)
Yes! I love it when Dimitri jumps onto my bed evenry night (except when he goes patying, hehe). I love the kneading on my legs. He always wants to put his head as close as mine, but I don't let him come so close.
Yes, my cats are allowed on the bed but they rarely do :(
Except during the winter! Then of course they want to steal all of our body heat. Nothing makes me happier though when they decide to sleep next to me :)
Hmm... When I get into bed my cat is soooo happy about it that she immediately bursts into purring. Then she walks back and forth above my head on the pillow. Occasionally she'll bite my hair, she's so happy (she's a love-biter, frequently biting my hands and wrists gently). Sometimes she bites too hard though. I got a scratch from her teeth on my scalp the other day.
my cat needs me and my mom on my mom´s bed to sleep all the time... everyday we need to stop doing things and go put him to sleep, if we dont he will cry and complain around us all day! he looks like the happiest cat in the world when we both go to sleep with him, and he always lay down on the top of a body part so we cant move too much without warn him. =)
My cat only slp with me..........when it's in the afternoon. And even so, rarely. He never slp with me, which though it sadden me, is never enough to compensate for the lousy slp i get from not being able to turn around when i need to for fear of squishing him.
I'm very sad that one of my two kitties doesn't sleep in my bed :( But my little sweety kitty always sleeps right beside my pillow,... but every morning she walks straight to my husband, purring and stretching on his chest... then, I'm alway ve~ry sad... T__T Kitty dun' love me... T___T
my two kitties always sleep on the bed with my husband and myself. one even has his own special blanket and pillow. :D it makes our dogs super jealous though but..the total weight of the kitties is maybe 15 lbs.. the total weight of the dogs is 120 lbs.. that's a bit much to be allowed on the bed
My 2 kitties like so sleep so I can't move.I sleep on my side &o ne will sleep against my belly, and the other behind my knees.
Once, though, my favorite was sleeping in my armpit, sorta, with my arm around her. I don't know if I moved and she freaked out, or if she had a nightmare and freaked out, but I woke to searing pain in my middle finger-she'd bunny-kicked me really hard. 3 weeks later and it's mostly healed.
My kitty sleeps in my arms and I can't move either. And he purrrrrrs so loud, so my BF gets so mad for not being able to sleep! But he's a crazy cat guy too!
The past few nights I wake up with my head on the bed, and the kitten on my pillow. I don't know how she manages to steal my pillow every night, but I feel bad moving her! haha
DEFINITE yes! I don't think I could sleep without a feline near me, and when I've done it on trips, I feel very cold and lonely. I actually just bought a bigger bed PRIMARILY because I thought the cats would like it. We were all squished into a twin, and I'd wake up with a cat on either pillow, and me in between. Now all three of us have our own pillows, even though I do miss a purring face on mine in the morning.
I live in a "jr one bedroom" so instead of a wall I have blinds separating the living room...so I don't get much a choice.
Most of the time, my two kitties know its bedtime and will stay asleep with me. It makes me feel comfy when they curl under the covers by my stomach and cuddle. However, come 6-7 am when I start to stir, they KNOW they will be fed soon and will try to wake me up earlier. I also sometimes wake up with random scratches
Two of my three sleep on the bed with me, but not when my fiancé is visiting - then we have the door closed. The cats have stopped miaowing outside the door all night long (mostly). At some point, I fully expect to win the battle of wills and once more there'll be cats on the bed.
We allow ours to sleep on our bed most of the time. We've ended up with as many as five sleeping with us, but there's always one who attacks MY feet. @.@
I have two cats, now. The mom trusted me enough to give birth to her kittens in my bedroom, so to those two kittens, I smell like home and mom, I guess. One of the kittens came back, as an adult. I suspect he was too friendly for a rather grumpy spouse.
He follows me around, by day, and at night, after walking back and forth on my bed for about a minute, he curls up next to my face, until well after I fall asleep. I've woken up with him there. I think his mom would curl up with me too, but he pesters her too much.
Yes, we let the cats sleep on our bed. Sometimes I don't want to move because I'll end up disrupting a kitty. *^_^*
ReplyDeletepoor boyfriend gets so little kitty-love though xD

ReplyDeleteI love to hear my cat purring next to my ear at night. It's like someone checks out if I sleep well :)
ReplyDeleteI love waking up to cats purring in my ears :)
ReplyDeleteaw hehe! my cat always sleeps on the bed, either at the bottom on my bfs legs or on my stomach.
ReplyDeleteOur cats sleeps on the bed, and we on the couch very often... Haha!
ReplyDeleteWith 4 cats who needs an electric blanket. They are always close by.
ReplyDeleteYes, I let my cats sleep on the bed. Because I tried shutting the door once, and we all know that never works, ending only in tears.

I like how the cats know when its time to wake up, you suddenly feel a paw nudge your face and little churping purr noises.

ReplyDeleteYasmine - omg did you get "I HAS IT" from the DIRECTV commercial?!
ReplyDeleteI have a hard time falling asleep if there isn't a cat in the bed. His warm little purring body is so comforting.
ReplyDeletesooooooooo true!!!
ReplyDeleteOur Cody is allowed to sleep on the bed but he doesn't choose to. He is a strange and super independent little guy.
He will join us only to come in and "make biscuits" driving my husband and I insane...when he has popped them in the oven he leaves.
I wish he would sleep with us!
Any ideas on why he won't?

ReplyDeleteOf course not! MY CATS' BED is occupied by CATS, and I am allowed to sleep in it to warm them. ;)

My cat sleeps on the bed, the dog under the bed, and the fosters take the couch. I think I'll have to start sleeping in the bathtub.
