Oh kitty cone. Have you placed one of these things on your cats? O_o
Actually, I’m the sick one. It’s almost a guarantee that every time there’s a holiday…sniffles.
Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving! No turkey for me…just sides :)
I’ll see you next week :)
xoxoxo
Get well soon, Yas! Happy thanksgiving! :)
ReplyDeletehappy thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteyou should post more often.
Aww I have a cold too. And my newest addition has to get neutered next week, so he'll be a sick grumpy kitty for a few days!
ReplyDeleteget better soon! >_<
ReplyDeleteAh, the cone of shame. I think all sick humans should wear them at least once... just for the experience.
ReplyDeleteOne of my kitties had to wear a lampshade on his head a few years back - we had to keep him in the conservatory because the other kitty kept licking his stitches, and he kept coming up to the conservatory door with the lampshade pressed against it, looking sorrowfully at us :(
ReplyDeleteI also had a guinea pig that needed a cone of shame once :D it was itty-bitty! Like bout 2 inches across :3
my little Frankie had to wear the Cone last week!
ReplyDeleteShe got spayed a couple of weeks back and started picking her stitches out so the cone was the only solution. and she wasn't very impressed!
xx
Sadly I had to do it to two of my cats, Girl once when she got into a fight and wouldn't leave her wounds alone. Later on when Lil' Bit got spayed, I still had the cone. Poor things both kept tripping over it, as it is one of those soft ones that folds back over the shoulders.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving! :) Thanks for all the wonderful drawings!
Happy Thanksgiving! I remember having to put one on my cat and she did the backwards dance for about an hour.
ReplyDeleteOur two cats have been through that, they kept thinking they could get out of the cone just by walking backwards.
ReplyDeletewoke up sick today Yasmine so I feel your pain. ditto with me and no Turkey thank you very much!
ReplyDeleteteehee it's so funny when you first put it on them. they backup or their head hits a table going forward and you can't help but to laugh. She looked miserable though...poor kitty..
ReplyDeleteCone of SHAME! Luckily my cats came "fixed" (another perk of adopting adult cats!), but Gracie cat had surgery a year ago, and had the cone while her incision healed. After she got over bumping into things, I think she was okay with wearing it. I have a cute picture of hear drinking water with my other cat, Finn, under the "umbrella" of the cone too!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this one and yes, we have a "cone of shame" in our cat supply cupboard, a relic of...which cat and what problem? ;)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day and thanks for letting the turkey be!
Can I talk about doggies? Please?
ReplyDeletekthx
One of my mates had to put a cone of shame on her dog, and we sat and watched as he bent his head down so the cone was touching the floor, and then raced madly across the laminate flooring...until he got to the carpet, and somersaulted over xD
why there's no black cats in your comics? =(
ReplyDeleteaw thanks!
ReplyDelete@danilo - i just lost a black cat to feline leukemia. i'll probably draw one eventually. it's still a bit hard thinking about it. i still miss him. i love black cats. or any cat ;)
I work in a veterinary clinic, so I have to put e-collars on kitties all the time! For the most part, they're not big fans of the whole process.
ReplyDeleteThere's a whole bunch of us here that love reading your webcomic! (A lot of the time they're made to be desktop backgrounds!)
Keep up the good work!

My cat, when she's sleepy, will start to lick a paw or upper arm absentmindedly. When she had to wear the cone of shame, she started doing the same thing, only she was licking the cone!
ReplyDeleteMy cat turned her cone into a toy! It was quite amusing. That was the only time I tried, gave up after that since she kept kicking at her face every time I got the thing on her lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJkZPzV0mzg
ReplyDeleteThe one time I had to put my cat in a cone he walked forward a couple steps, caught the cone on the carpet, and refused to move. Ended up having to take the cone off and taping a sock onto the foot he wasn't supposed to lick...
ReplyDeletepooor sicky :(
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for all the poor little satellite kitties around the world! It can only get better :)
ReplyDeleteMy kitten Tuutti (ironicly her name translates to "cone") was really upset about having to wear the cone. She only crawled backwards while wearing it, couldn't eat or drink... We felt sorry for her and took the cone off as she promised to be a good girl and not bite her stiches. Surprisingly, she didn't bite them and healed in time :)
You've got some publicity on reddit! Someone made their own rendition of your comic :)

aw thanks guys.
ReplyDeletei love reddit! :)
oh Hope it's all better now!
ReplyDeleteActually had mu cat on one of these for almost a month, poor guy!
He was not happy about it, and pretended to have a lot of trouble moving around just to see if we would take it off... and then he would hear the door opening or his food hitting the bowl and suddenly he could come running down the stairs :D
The vet had put one of these on my Kitten; not 3 minutes after we had left, she had gotten herself out of it. We tried again at home, but she managed to get it off within a minute.
ReplyDeleteUna had to wear a cone for an entire month. (She had a mammary tumor, and chewed on it until it bled.) We got her a soft model (fabric/plastic) that was a lot more comfortable than the rigid one, but she still hated it. And it angled down, so it looked like she was hanging her head dejectedly. (I think she was.) Once the skin healed, we put a bitter gel on it, and were finally able to take off the collar, so she got few weeks of normal life before she died.
ReplyDeleteyeah our cat had a cone last winter, she ran off, supposedly got stucked somwhere in mid-winter and -30 degrees but came home after a few days. alive, thou everyone told she'd die out there :-D
ReplyDeleteshe's a super cat, i think. btw i absolutely adore your blog! :--)
For me, a sick kitty is a princess kitty. =^_^=
ReplyDeleteWhen our cat was spayed, she absolutely loved her elizabethan collar and made a fuss when it was time to take it off. XDD
When I had first gotten my older two cats, Jive and Rictus, they both had cones on at the same time. Jive would somehow manage to take off his cone, and kept running away from me. I found Rictus in my sister's bedroom, his face to the wall. It was so sad, for his cone touched the wall, so he just looked like a fat cat body connected to the wall. Jive would pass by him, smack him, and walk away. What a jerk <3
