    I call that corporal cuddling (versus corporal punishment).

      We call it enforced cuddling, though it wouldn't have the desired effect on our eldest. If she had her way, she'd never be put down!

    Erm, I do this with my puppy. I start off totally intending to scold him for tattering yet another bathroom mat but then he looks up all adorable and I somehow end up cuddling the life out of him. =)

    Yes, I recognise this. I refer to it as a "punishment cuddle". If Meg (bless her paws) is really annoying I pick her up and kiss her a lot until she wriggles.

    OMG, you are sooooo right! Whenever I need to get one (or all three) of mine off the bed, I start giving them all kinds of "muuuu-muuuus" --lovin' them up like crazy, and they RUN AWAY!

    I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one that does that! I tell my cat he wanted attention, so he's getting it whether he likes it or not. We call it "enforced cuddling" in my family.
