Exactly like what my partner and myself were like over the weekend and we only stayed over one night! I think my mum got sick of me sending her text messages!
I am lucky enough to have a roommate that will let me skype with my kitties. He just holds them up while I try to get their attention. It doesn't really work, but at least I get to see them. :)
My husband used to put my cat on the phone when I was living away. He'd ask her questions, and she'd yell. If he put the receiver close enough to her nose, I could hear her purring :)
I'm separated from my kitty for a little while, my Mom has been sending me daily photo diaries of her activities. It makes me miss her even more, but at least I get to see what she's up to!
I'm glad to know I'm not alone! I feel like a jerk when I go over to a friend's house (just to hang out, not to stay over, btw) and if they have a cat it reminds me that I could be with MY babies. And I'm not. And then I get sad.
I'm lucky my hubby feels the same way, or he would go nuts with my incessant "Put him on the phone!".
Our wonderful pet sitter (pro) called us after her first visit to let us know everything went well (our brood includes a special needs shy boy), and even made a mini photo album of her visits. :)
Lol! I make my cat sitter, usually my brother, take pics with his cell phone and text them back to me. I need to know my precious little guys are okay. :)
My ex and I have iPhones with FaceTime. We also have two cats. Much to my annoyance and heartbreak, he never sends pictures or videos of them, but he does FaceTime with me every once in awhile so I can see them. They rub up against the camera. I'd like to think it's because they miss me but I know it's probably because they just like to rub against things. I miss them. :(
So basically owning a cat is like having a second smartphone? You can't bear to be away from it for more than ten minutes without wanting to check on it? lol
How my phonecalls to my dad always goes: Me: "Now let's talk abot something more important..." Dad: "My cat is sleeping and hasn't done anything special."
When we went on a trip we left our Zoey in a kennel place that is just for cats and they had video cameras in every room so that we could watch her at any time...good and bad idea when you end up checking on your cat like a million times a day to make sure she is okay haha
Hhahahaah my dad LOVES my sister's cats. Dunno what he would do if she ever moved out with em!

ReplyDeleteStupid babies, leaving claw marks on my heart.
And furballs in, um, my intestines and stuff.
Yup, that pretty much sums up when I go visit my parents and leave Husband in charge of furry child.
ReplyDeleteHaha, you're the best.
