It is very depressing. :( My kitty sniff it and then walks away. But she does love these http://www.walmart.com/ip/Ethical-Pet-Fur-Mouse-Cat-Toy-2-Pack/15153737
1. VALERIAN instead. Boy kitteh didn't get off on 'nip but would go mental for Valerian.
2. CLOVE OIL. We had a tea towel that had been soaked in clovey-water, and dried in the sun. Both kittehs (as four month old babies) went absolutely nutso for it! They were rolling around on the wooden floor where the tea towel had been and growly-purring at each other.
It reminds me about that episode of "Sabrina, the teenage witch" wich Salem was drinking a kind of canned drink called "HappyCat" and he's totally drunk =P
Great comic! My cat has a catnip ball that, when she is in the right mood, she will lay on top of and just rub her face all over it. If it gets away she just ribs her face on the carpet instead
my cat is inmune to catnip @___@ i bought her the concentrated version of catnip, the regular and the leaf one.....NO EFFECT..still crazy as hell trying to climb my clothes and throwing water at me while i brush my teeth in the morning. i love her but i wish she could get high on catnip...stupid bamboo (my cat)
Aha... those cats that don't react to catnip often get a similar high on wet honeysuckle wood. They sniff it and go totally nuts. Just make sure your kitty doesn't eat it, it could get him sick. You could put some honeysuckle woodchips or sawdust in a catnip toy. Also, if your cat is really young, he doesn't have the ability to get stoned on catnip or honeysuckle until around five months. Hope that helps :)
For everyone who has a cat that doesn't react to catnip you should try silvervine. I pick it up over at the nip and bones online (nip and bones . com), they make great pillows our kitties love!
My cat had what I assume was a bad trip on catnip, and since then he actively avoids it. The best I can figure is he thought his tail was trying to kill him. O^O
Some cats also prefer cat nip spray. It's liquid cat nip. My Zoey responds to both pretty well. A lot of nights before bed I'll give her favorite toys and her cat tree a spray so she'll have some fun while we're sleeping.
They look sooo cute totally nuts <3
ReplyDeleteBeautiful art in this comic, love de octopus-toy scene.

DeleteOne of life's greates pleasures is seeing 'em glassy-eyed and drooly-faced, blazin' on the 'nip ;)
ReplyDeleteHahha I love stoned kitties.
ReplyDeletemy three love the "nip" but my good kitty bubba is especially fond of it, so funny to see miss prissy go silly that we grow it special fresh for her.
ReplyDeleteVery good! It is exactly the same thing with my cats. (laughs)
