My lady cat is always in front of tv/trying to get inside of it when we're watching and comes to send secret cat messages from our laptops while we try to use it. Once she has managed to shut my comp :D Quite often she also just smacks laptop shut (and steals food if we're eating)
Mine smacks like that when he's trying to wake me up, that is when purring in me ear and licking my face doesn't work.
But to get my attention from the laptop to him he simply jumps on my shoulders. Fortunately he's just a 3 months old kitten now but I hope he'll give that habbit up as he grows and won't fit on my shoulder anymore.
My big kitty will sit facing the other way if she things I'm ignoring me, and just constantly whack me in the face with her tail. And my little kitty will lay down on my keyboard.
My Sammi is by my task chair, staring up at me as I laugh at your comic! He comes into the office grumbling, jumps up on the soft rug I've placed for him beside my desk, and cutes me out. When I have a cat on my lap, it's often very hard to use the computer -- but it's a lot nicer! :)
Level 1: Sit on computer tower next to human's knees, soulfully stare into his eyes. Duration: 5-15 minutes.
Level 2: Oh-so-slowly, oh-so-carefully extend the paw, expose the claws, tap human gently on knee. Maintain cute-eyes-of-doom whilst doing so.
Level 3: Bob the head slightly to catch attention, then MEOW mournfully. Maintain cute-eyes at all costs. MEOW again.
Level 4: Jump onto human's wrists (jumping on keyboard results in instant ejection) stretch out across both wrists, and go to sleep. Resulting loss of blood circulation ensures success.
wow, I thought my cat was the only wrist-sleeper. He's no a little girl, he's a fat old lump of fur... kinda heavy too. And he follows all of these steps ... and he did it again. Fat cat on wrist, hand turning blue ;)
Heheh, I hate it when kitties choose to sit on the laptop instead of on my lap when I'm trying to use the laptop. Seriously annoying, kitty. My lap is MUCH more comfy.
At least at this very moment, our Rory is sleeping on my feet, and not the laptop, which he has on more than one occasion shut down. If he wasn't so danged cute...
3 of my cats would lay down on top of my work desk, giving me a tiny space just enough to move my mouse, and one serves as a cushion for my wrist when I type. Very helpful!
If I'm in a conversation with someone or on the phone, my cat will poke his paw in my mouth as if to say, "Hey, stop talking and start petting." This tactic also works to wake me up sometimes. He's very persuasive.
my kitty always do that too!! when i focused on doing something..she always looking for attention by bite my foot and smack my head..i found it funny sometimes..
OK, not relevant to this thread, but I need advice:
It's 1am Saturday. I was just in my spare bedroom/lab and there was a strange cat sitting there. It was black with white feet. One of its back legs isn't working. I can't tell if it's broken or what. When it saw me it hopped into the closet and hid. I set up a litter box, water and food. (I have 2 other cats)
I had a window open in that room earlier, it must have climbed in. Now what?
Either throw it out or round it up and take it to a vet. The only vet open on the weekend is the ridiculously expensive emergency vet. It has to wait to Monday, anyway.
I don't want this. But I can't ignore a suffering cat.
Don't you have something like a non-killing cat shelter run by volunteers in your neighborhood? If you don't have anyone like that to contact, then take it to the vet on Monday and then try to find it a nice home with any of your friends or smt. The state shelters keep the animals for 2 weeks and then eliminate them (unless the animal is super cute and friendly and looks like someone would come and want it).
This is happening to me right now.
ReplyDeleteI can only laugh WITH you :)))
ReplyDeleteMy cat will just sit on the laptop, papers, etc. She thinks it's ever so convenient. :]
ReplyDeleteA good whap, repeatedly applied, will usually get a kitty what she wants.
ReplyDeletemy cats would just walk/sit/jump on the laptop.
ReplyDeleteMy cat lays down on my laptop and won't get up until I get up!
