yeah, I've seen those in Cat Fancy. It's one of those litter boxes that look like a planter. That way you can put it in the living room and people may not notice it.
This is the problem I have in my house! My cat is obsessed with eating plastic bags! I have to take them away from him all the time. If I even look away for a second while putting away groceries or something, he'll be there munching on a bag.
Mine is obsessed with the bit of plastic from pull to open bags like lunch meat or frozen food bags. Or ANYTHING cellophane or a sticker. I've had to pull out half eaten/swallowed strips of plastic from his mouth a few times. His curiosity will be the death of me and/or him.
My cat used to hang out in front of the dog food bowl all the time. I'd always be scared she'd eat all of the dog's food. I asked my vet and she said that although she might be eating a few of the dog kibble, the cat is mostly putting dog kibble in her mouth and spitting it back out. It's the cat's way of messing with the dog - putting her scent on the food - as if to tell the dog who's in charge. As if we needed any more reminders!
I actually managed to train my cat to stay off eating surfaces. Danged if I know how I did it. I had two pet rats a few years ago. I decided to introduce them to my cat to see how things went. Rat #1 freaked, rat #2 grabbed cat fur in both front paws and bit my cat on the nose. Rat was boss, kitty's nose healed just fine. It was funny though
I flip over my head to comb through my wet hair...aaall of the sudden its like I'm dangling ribbons in front of my felicia....as for Felix, he only eats cat food and grass when I let them out on their weekend outting. I wonder why he's so fat tho lol....definitely flowers, ill get bouquets because they love smelling them ask the time. I guess I should check if there are specifc ones they shouldn't bite O_o love the comic Jasmine, thanks for sharing...
My cat really loves to eat the dust pile when we sweep it up. He's not very smart. Also, we can't leave anything that was once a chicken around, he'll even try to open the garbage lid to get at skin/bones/leftovers.
whatever I am making for dinner, I have to offer at least a chance to sniff it, if not a taste... I have been mauled for a cranberry oatmeal cookie before
Then just imagine what I go through when I eat sour cream and onion chips. I usually manage to keep them at bay, but if I dare let a crumb hit the floor, they're on it like a flash. Same if I don't immediately wash my hands. They'll jump just to lick the powder from my fingers. Still not as bad as the cat who would leap into the air to catch things. Falling noodles, low-flying bats, potato chips...
Loved the dog! We've got seven cats and two sighthounds. Both of the dogs will back away if any of the cats want their food, so we have to watch over their feeding or they'll get none.
cats eat your household plants cause its natural for them to eat plants/grass. Its helps their digestion, some omnivore natural instinct.
we had a cat, who lived with an older cat (when I lived with my parents). The older cat was a longhair, and the younger cat would eat pieces of his hair on the carpet. We could never figure this one out. They're both long gone, but after the older one died, the younger one would still find his hair in a spot we missed and eat it. She was always a wierd one
My kitty loves chewing on cardboard and paper, he doesn't seem to really eat it, but chews it to bits.
He once chewed the corner off one of my books.... it looked like a rat or mouse got at it!
My old roommate smoked and left her cigarettes, they were still in their pack (made of paperboard) and when my cat decided to chew on that he bite into a few of the cigarettes as well. So now he has a "nicotine addiction". He can smell out cigarettes and will even try to open backpacks and purses to get them.
I no longer live with anyone who smokes so it isn't really an issue anymore thankfully
My cat is obsessed with eating plastic bags. I literally have to take one away from him everyday. I really need to stop accepting plastic at the grocery store.
@decemberx it is so true. We inspect everything. No matter if it is sour cabbage or apricot wholegrain biscuits, we have to smell and see if it something for our consumption. :-)
My cat tries to eat anything we are. It's fine if mum has yoghurt or tomato. Not so good when she's trying to steal your lucky charms. She chews on things she's not meant to eat for attention. Cheeky little thing. She loves ripping apart boxes and paper. Every time I pick up a box there's a little fang hole in the side. XD
my cat does all of these. she even stole spinach from my salad last night and ate it all. she also loves to shred cardboard but at least she doesn't actually eat it!
My cat is also crazy about q-tips. He doesn't eat them, just chews them around and play. He also love eating pop corn, cereal, cranberries, cream cheese and even mushrooms!
Haha that was exactly the look on my dog the first two times my kitten took his food. But then he decided enough was enough and barked really loud as soon as she got close and that scared her away ^^
No plants/flowers can survive my house either! I was thinking about finding some old birdcages and trying to put some indoor plants in them. Birdcages protect birds from cats, they could protect plants too, right? Also, one my cats will eff you up for some Doritos, no joke, he gets fierce.
Had a cat once who would grab my glasses off of my nightstand and run off with them. That pair of glasses had little teeth marks all around the frames. There's a reason I get the teflon coating on my lenses.
my cats destroy flowers, and plants, but I get them anyways. The ones I like, I put on a high shelf that they can't reach, or I bring the flowers with me to work.
My cat likes to let me know she's hungry by chewing on anything noisy in the middle of the night, mostly plastic bags I use for my trash can in my room. She knows the noise wakes me up, mean cat. She also likes fish crackers, sneaking cereal while you're not looking, my yarn, my hair ties, and most of all, dead leaves. She'll spend hours and hours outside just chewing up dead leaves. I'm not sure if she eats them, but she likes how they crunch I guess... I love cats!
Don't forget electrical cords of any kind. We've had to block off lamp cords, and have had several cell phone charger casualties. I actually had to replace my sister's iphone charger when my kitty chewed through it. =/
So true -- many plants aren't good for cats, either. I went to Michael's last year and got a lot of beautiful "silk" flowers and plants and put them all over the house -- they are beautiful, never wither, never need watering, and are good in cat families. They make nice gifts, too ;)
i always have to keep flowers on top of my bookcase! so lame. my kitty can't resist when i eat mashed potatoes. he jumps up and sticks his face in them if i give him half a chance!
My cat Apricot will eat Doritios, Salad, Any cheese, Mushroom Soup, Hamburgers, Brocolli (spelled incorrectly), Turkey, Roast Beef, Egg Salad, Chicken, Lettuce (with dressing) - basically any human food.... I have spoiled her so much she will just eat whatever I am eating!!!
Hi! I just discovered your website, and I loved it! My cat Nikki does all these things, and I can't help but laugh - she's cute even when she does something wrong!
Anyway, congrats on the comics! I loved all of them.
I have a cat who is utterly obsessed with eating the sea weed sheets used to make sushi. The plastic Christmas tree. Human grade steak, the more expensive the more nuts she gets. It was a big mistake the day I fed her some premium scotch fillet. At least she appreciates a good cut of meat.
XD This morning I accidently fed my cat dog food after feeding the puppies and she ended up just staring at it for a long time I left then came back she started fallowing me and I wondered why and I yelled at her saying she already had food but then she kept insisting so I went over and looked down thinking that wasn't the cat food so I ended up getting her the cat food and pouring the dog food in bag she looked at me like I was stupid XD
The family cat has always eaten the dog's food. He picks up the oversized kibble, drops them in the water bowl to soften them, and then eats them. The dog totally doesn't care. Even lets the cat eat right next to him. The dog has allergy problems and gets organic food that is ok for cats. Its awfully cute.
BAH! My cat insists on eating the fake plant attached to his litter box even though it makes him puke.
ReplyDeleteThere is a fake plant attached to a litter box? :)
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I thought when i read that. Fancy!
Deleteyeah, I've seen those in Cat Fancy. It's one of those litter boxes that look like a planter. That way you can put it in the living room and people may not notice it.
Deletethey may not notice it until the cat gets in it to take a dump... then they will definitely notice it! lol
DeleteMy husband can't get me flowers anymore because our cat will knock them over and eat them.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget plastic! They adore it, which is terrible for them.

DeleteHah! So true, but for me his favourite is my flesh, especially my toes
ReplyDeleteif i eat yogurt my baby girl will be there eating with me and she will not leave me alone until i give her some

ReplyDeleteOne of my cats doesn't even wait for me to finish making my sandwich before trying to grab it off of my plate!
ReplyDeleteSewing pins, cracked corn for the birds, suet, mostly the cracked corn. Every time I get a fresh bag its torn open in minutes.
ReplyDeleteOne of my cats enjoys licking photos, savoring the flavor of my memories.
ReplyDeleteMy cat licks pictures, too! I wonder why they do that.
DeleteI am hoping that there isn't some property in photos that is some cat drug...
DeleteMine has a perchant for shoelaces, earbud cords... and fingers =/
ReplyDeleteI actually managed to train my cat to stay off eating surfaces. Danged if I know how I did it.

oh... and the gummy side self seal envelopes...
ReplyDeletemy kitteh likes to eat lettuce, cheerios, and crackers..
ReplyDeleteRandom bits of fluff off the floor, shoelaces, boxes, receipts, sticky tape...
ReplyDeleteyeah, I have marshmallows knocked out of my hand. It's rude, if he'd only meow/ask for one. No manners at all.
ReplyDeleteMy socks and underwear from the dirty laundry hamper. :X (Attempted, not actual eating.)
ReplyDeleteI flip over my head to comb through my wet hair...aaall of the sudden its like I'm dangling ribbons in front of my felicia....as for Felix, he only eats cat food and grass when I let them out on their weekend outting. ReplyDeleteDO NOT ALLOW HIM TO EAT CHICKEN BONES! They spinter & can cut his insides
Deleteribbon
ReplyDeletemy cat tries to eat my makeup brushes o.o
ReplyDeletewhatever I am making for dinner, I have to offer at least a chance to sniff it, if not a taste... I have been mauled for a cranberry oatmeal cookie before
ReplyDeleteoh and tape! they will eat packing tape off the box if i leave it on the floor! i thought cats don't like sticky tapes?
ReplyDeleteIf I have chips of any kind or sour cream on anything...I am attacked by begging kitties!
ReplyDeleteThen just imagine what I go through when I eat sour cream and onion chips. I usually manage to keep them at bay, but if I dare let a crumb hit the floor, they're on it like a flash. Same if I don't immediately wash my hands. They'll jump just to lick the powder from my fingers.

ReplyDeleteIs that a miniature plesiosaur in the tank?
ReplyDelete@decemberx it is so true. We inspect everything. No matter if it is sour cabbage or apricot wholegrain biscuits, we have to smell and see if it something for our consumption. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhen I was little he would eat Barbie heads, though only the brown haired ones.
ReplyDeleteThe dog's expression is so cute! Poor doggie.
ReplyDeleteOh, I remember flowers. Yeah, I used to have those. Pre-cat.
ReplyDeleteMy cat tries to eat anything we are. It's fine if mum has yoghurt or tomato. Not so good when she's trying to steal your lucky charms. She chews on things she's not meant to eat for attention. Cheeky little thing.
ReplyDeleteShe loves ripping apart boxes and paper. Every time I pick up a box there's a little fang hole in the side. XD
Licking hair is a big one for my cat. Especially my husband's hair, maybe because it's short and she thinks he's a cat!
ReplyDeleteHahha my aunt's cat is totally obsessed with the dogs food. She's a bit chunky.
ReplyDeleteMy cat is mad about hair elastics, cotton buds (Q-tips) & tin foil, all of which I'm sure are very good for her!
ReplyDeletemy cat does all of these. she even stole spinach from my salad last night and ate it all. she also loves to shred cardboard but at least she doesn't actually eat it!

my cat likes to lick the couch. does that count?
ReplyDeleteHaha that was exactly the look on my dog the first two times my kitten took his food. But then he decided enough was enough and barked really loud as soon as she got close and that scared her away ^^
ReplyDeleteMy cat loves popsicles and ice cream bars. She will sit next to me and bat my hand and face until I let her have a lick.
ReplyDeleteOMG my cat loves to eat my hair. It's so creepy. I wake up in the morning and he's sitting on my hair trying to chew it.
ReplyDeleteNo plants/flowers can survive my house either! I was thinking about finding some old birdcages and trying to put some indoor plants in them. Birdcages protect birds from cats, they could protect plants too, right?

ReplyDeleteMy cat LOVES to eat my freshly washed, wet hair. Ehhk
ReplyDeleteHad a cat once who would grab my glasses off of my nightstand and run off with them. That pair of glasses had little teeth marks all around the frames. There's a reason I get the teflon coating on my lenses.

ReplyDeleteMy son likes to pop balloons (when we have them). We have to make sure to get ALL the bits up or the cats' poop is multi-color for a day or two.
ReplyDeleteRenee :)
My cat likes to let me know she's hungry by chewing on anything noisy in the middle of the night, mostly plastic bags I use for my trash can in my room. She knows the noise wakes me up, mean cat.
