I LOLed. Oh, yes, I LOLed! And startled my kitty, who was, of course, sleeping in my lap. Who is now lick-lick-licking my hands because they are TYPING! can you believe it? instead of petting her.
I was grumpy at my cat for being sick on my computer chair, but by the time I got downstairs to get a cloth to clean up she was looking so cute and innocent I couldn't be angry any more. Cats are too powerful me thinks!
i've only had my new cat for just over a week, but i already know how lucky i am that she (as of yet) isn't destructive. i hope that she never will be! (impossible, i know.)
i'm so glad to finally have a cat in my life again. :)
Oh if I had a nickel for every time I discovered something that is now "formerly", and wagged a finger at the offender saying "This is why we can't have nice things!!" But yeah, still love them.
I was at Restoration Hardware a few weeks ago. I saw this beautiful couch made out of something you use to put potatoes in, but the weave was finer and more dense. It totally looked like it could take a beating, so if I reupholster my furniture, I might look into that material. I'm also looking at fabrics similar to the ones found for patio chairs--like a thick, coated canvas. They're not as soft and cuddly, but that's what throw blankets are for. That and it's a good long-term visitor deterrent.
Oh my... it is late at night, my Man is asleep and I nearly spat half a mouthful of wine through my nose trying not to laugh out loud. How TRUE!!! What a handsome kitteh (spelling? I haz no time for spelling!), never mind that old couch! rofl
We've had lots of luck getting cats to scratch where they should if we offer posts and mats wrapped in sisal. "Kitty Hoots" has a sisal mat that all our foster kittens have used (they often start to scratch by 4 or 5 weeks of age), and pet stores are full of cat posts/trees wrapped with sisal. It's super cheap to build your own, too. We've got 25 cats and no furniture damage, but we provide a dozen different trees/posts to scratch on.
You're awsome! Your drawings are so sharp and funny! I love enter your site and found a new drawing, which I know I'll love for sure. I Identify with almost every post. This should been published! From Barcelona, I would buy it for sure. LOL,
I can't believe you let your cat destroy your furniture! He's a gorgeous kitty, but if he were mine and I caught him disemboweling my couch, I'd start seriously wondering what he'd look like as a pair of mittens.
In other news, this morning my little furry bastard decided to lie across my neck while I was sleeping. I nudged his elbow off my windpipe and let him stay. :)
Hello, Yasmine! I have a 15 years old Tonkinese cat. I like your blog pretty much! I've read the Lady's Comics article and found it amazing that your mom was an animator for Jem & The Holograms. I love that show! I used to whatch it in the SBT tv channel over here in Brazil. Feliz 2011!

ReplyDeleteHello from Barcelona!
So far couch is fine...but blinds are meeting their match against Cordelia Joy and her teethers.
ReplyDeleteYour illustrations always speak the truth - but they still make me laugh! Thank goodness for kitties.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Nice.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love invisible shopping cart, that is an awesome lolcat. :D
Every last corner front and back of our three couches has been shredded :(
ReplyDeleteNot sure what we'll do when they get replaced!
It's more beautiful that way, actually.
ReplyDeleteAnd the yakface is precious. ;)
Awesome!

Your house is still probably more magical for all the kitties :)) And I love the insane-face of your cat owners.
ReplyDeleteHahaha!! I love this! It's so true!
ReplyDeleteI too sit on something formerly known as the sofa. You can't call it like that anymore. I've got nine, NINE cats. Nine.
ReplyDeleteI have a cat for almost a year now and I couldn't live without him!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog, btw!
Kudos from Porto Alegre, Brazil!
