If I were single, I couldn't imagine going out with someone who wasn't pet-friendly.

  1. my boyfriend is allergic, but he still plays with my cat and stays over at my place all the time. i just end up feeling a little guilty while he sniffles.

  2. i seem to attract guys who are allergic or don't like cats. my recent one is a guy i who ended up getting an allergy attack and had difficulty breathing. there were no call backs after that.

  6. Just want to mention that people who alergic to any Pets are unlike people who don't like Pets.
    ;o)

Had also several allergies to various Pets but my love to Pets were always stronger. And, well,... there is also a medical way too.

Oh and i like your Blog very much! Keep up your very nice work! :o)

    With nice regards from Hamburg/Germany

  8. yup, in between the sneaky 'what are you thoughts on marriage and lots of babies?' questions there is always a 'heyyyyy, have you seen my cat? pretty awesome riiiiiight??'

  9. LOL
I love your comics! I am also passionate about cats and they are certainly a determinate condition as to my relations.

  10. My boyfriend is allergic. It's been hard, but I'm slowly coming to accept that I'll end up having pet dogs.

  11. Haha, it looks like a lot of you have allergic bfs :) Mine is too, but I guess he got over it because he isn't bothered by our cat.

PS I love how there's always a little kitty hairball (or turd?) over in the corner in "cat lady" comics. My parents have 6(!) cats and it seems like the trail of hairballs is never-ending!

  12. Never happen. Avoid those like the plague. (Besides, I'm allergic to blond guys.)

  13. I could never love a man that did not love my cat.

Actually I think I ditched a boyfriend simply because he didn't seem to like the cat enough.

  14. I'm actually allergic to cats and I have two. I just deal with it, my love for them is far stronger than the allergies...so it's all good!

My husband is even more allergic to them but it's just another sacrifice he's made for me. He just doesn't pet them and tries to avoid them...otherwise his allergies get super bad. I am lucky that he's willing to deal with this just for me.

  15. kenalog shots.....claritin....benadryl.....i have asthma but my cats and dogs are not going anywhere. :)

  16. I'm allergic and I have 5. I've built up somewhat of a tolerance that I help along with some nasal allergy spray a few times a week. I've also developed asthma because of my allergies. I won't date anyone that doesn't like cats. If they are allergic they either suck it up or they know where the door is. Sorry, the cats aren't going anywhere.

  17. wow I just love your blog ^^;;

    It would seriously suck to be allergic to cats u-u;; Although ~most~ people who say they are could just take antihistamines >_>;;;

I think I would've never ended up with my S.O. if he did not love cats as much as I do :D

    1. Unfortunate thing about anti-histamines....they also can make a person wicked-sleepy, or have other adverse reactions. :(

Plus, they don't always help, depending on the allergy.

  18. Actually antihistamines alone won't do much for pet allergies. Maybe if they're mild enough, and if you've built a tolerance to a certain animal. But otherwise pills aren't going to stop an allergy attack.
Anyway it's not good to take too many allergy meds b/c they can cause osteoporosis :/

Being allergic to cats really puts a damper on a social life. Always having to avoid house parties b/c of cats. :/

*sigh* ...I wish I wasn't allergic to cats.

  19. i think i may be slightly allergic to cats...i itch my face when i nuzzle them. but that doesn't stop me :) haha.

  20. I got a kitten, and then the bf was allergic, so I got rid of the bf ;) haha

  21. wow, do you only have female readers other than me? or just female commentors!? For shame! Wonderful comics. I am dying to get a cat sometime, as sooon as I can afford one >.> stupid apartments.

    ReplyDelete
  22. actually, i have more male emailers than i do ladies. but i have more lady commentors than i do male ones.

oh yeah...the apartment thing. i have 3 cats and a 95lb dog. it's a challenge to find a proper place that takes a lot of pets.

  23. My fiance used to be really allergic to my cats when I first met him...I always felt bad for him, but he never gave up because he loved both me and the cats! He always came over, snuggled them (and me!), and went home sniffling and sneezing.

You know what? Five years later, the cats don't cause any allergic reactions at all! Late Summer seasonal plant allergies are another story altogether, though :(

  24. Like most others here, my boyfriend is allergic to cats. He lives with his brother and two cats, but he's gotten used to them (the cats, that is ;P ), so he doesn't 'flare up' as badly these days.

He loves my cat, but wouldn't be able to spend more than one night at my place (there are two dogs here, tho only one has fur and he provokes his allergies A LOT). He'll play with the kitty, and she'll purr like crazy (she recognizes his scent from clothes of his that I 'borrow').

My dad and brother are also allergic to cats, and possibly the bald dog we have, but they love my kitty too. If only the fuzzy dog loved her as much....

  25. There's allergic, and there's ALLERGIC.
My mother and I are both cat lovers, but she gets awful asthma attacks from anything with fur or feathers... :'(

  26. I'm allergic to cats and dogs, but I take offense to the idea that this somehow means I am NOT pet-friendly.

My boyfriend has two cats and I don't go over much, but when I do, I'm nice to his cats.

  27. BF here is allergic to cats, the more he came over the more immune he became...I think he's immune to my two kitties tho :P yay

  28. Oh dear! LOL

The guy honestly looks like my husband if he is around cat hair for any length of time. :( It's not that he hates cats per se, as much as he hates how his body reacts to them. :( (I have allergies to them too, but not nearly as bad as he does!)

    ReplyDelete
  29. lol I always feel offended when people tell me they are allergic. I know it's not deserved. Though some people to act like it's a personal thing and come to hate cats themselves because of their own allergy. It's not the cat's fault your nose is stupid.

    1. Our noses are not stupid. We just don't have perfect genes. I love cats. All of them. I wish my genes were perfect so I could hug them without getting rashes but the closest I can be to a cat is my kitty ring I usually wear. Now apologize for being mean to my nose >:O x3

  30. I'm allergic and I love all my cats, Visine for the itchy eyes and constant brushing for the shedding. If only prolonged exposer to long cat hair irritate my lungs :(

  31. My boyfriend is allergic to cats. I don't know I'm going to marry this guy with that in mind, but I'll manage somehow!
