That's happened to us a few times where we were looking for our cat, only for her to reappear from under our kitchen sink. We thought we looked in there, and before we were about to print signs she just came out hungry and wanting food.
Haha! This has happened to me several times, especially when Dimitri know I'm looking for him to take him to the vet. He'd look at me from a secret spot without my knowing it.
One day my cat Orion rode to work with me, hung out all day long, then rode back. Unfortunately I didnt notice before I left that he snuck out of the house and jumped into my engine bay. 60 miles round trip and 10 hours at work, only when I was near home did he start to meow, and then I was on the highway and couldnt stop. When I got home I opened the hood, expecting that it was a stray that got in there, but no, up he pops his head, stuck out his tongue and walked into the house. Cats will drive you insane if you let them.
I'm really glad I'm not the only person who walks their cats. Whenever I mention that to my friends they think I'm insane. But, they just don't KNOW. They don't have cats xD.
Yeah I have to walk them because they prefer real grass over store bought cat nip. My boy kitty also has a fit if he's not let out. He also prefers going to the bathroom on the ground rather than his litter. So both cats and dogs are walked :)
My indoor cats disappear all the time. I read a book as a child that says whenever you know your cat should be there but you can't find him - he is time traveling.
i take my kitties for walks too..and it's funny cause Tuna, the one that wants out the most, when she's all harnessed in, we have to drag her around. it's so hilarious. she apparently loves it though. i feel bad sometimes for not letting them free but i would FREAK if something happened to them. i'm such an overprotective kitty mom..hehehe. great comic! my kitties have secret hiding spots in the house, i have no idea where they go sometimes.
I have to walk mine too. they are currently (i have 3) staying with my mom in her apt, so I take them downstairs to roll around in the dirt a little bit :) i love your blog-- for reals. i even posted about it the other day :)
This was like watching myself look for Xena--except I am always compelled to look in the dryer and the freezer, too (one cat did have a short visit in the refrigerator once).
It took me ages to figure out that anytime I couldn't find my cat, he was behind the books on the bookshelf. Of course, now that I know about that spot, he's sure to find another "vanishing cabinet" of sorts.
My little guy did this to me once. Except that he was hiding on top of the fridge, behind the cereal and Ramen. And Roommate and I were outside calling for him and I decided to make sure that he wasn't hiding in the apartment since I knew that he was an indoor-only cat because he's extremely terrified of the outdoors. I can leave the door open and the most he'll do is maybe look outside before something makes him run further inside.
This happened to me once. My friend made a joke about using a kitten's skull as an egg cup (she got a stern talking to about mean jokes like that). I went to cuddle my kitty and get over the terror, and I couldn't find her anywhere. I mean ANYWHERE. I tried everything; treats, opening the bread package (she loves bread), turning on the faucet, fillign up her food bowl. I tried everything I could think of. I was panicking, thinking of what happened to her. After 15 minutes of searching panic-stricken, I finally found her wedged under the couch in front of the heater. I've never been so scared.
me encanto! muy tiernos tus comics, bueno y otros un poco exagerados por las sangre y todo eso, pero genial. muy lindos, y amo los gatos! creo que con decir eso digo todo!
Once, I took a little female cat home which I had found in the street. She didn't make ANY noise. I was able to keep her secretly in my room a whole week without my mother noticing (which was great, since she didn't want any more pets in the house) but I freaked out everytime I came back from school and she was hiding and she wouldn't respond to me calling "kitty, kitty!!" ¬¬'

ReplyDeletethe line "kitty i have treats" will forever be exaggeratedly quoted about my girlfriend for the rest of my life now. :P

ReplyDelete:)
ReplyDeleteyeah. my cats like to hide under chairs or under the table cloth. they also like to swipe at people as they pass by.
I love this one! All cat people have been there. Keep up the great work
ReplyDeleteI walk my cats too. It's safest that way. One time I "lost" one cat in an upper kitchen cabinet. I have yet to figure out how she got in there....
