I once went downstairs to find some kind of raw steak (god I hope it was steak...) in the middle of the kitchen floor, complete with little cat chomps in it - Himself and I are vegetarians, so some poor bugger in our street must have woken up to find their precious steak gone ><
My kitty that lives at my parent's house is notorious for bringing things in, like a kestral, a live mouse (5 times, because I kept putting him and it back outside - eventually I thanked him for the gift, but that I would let *him* eat it) and a mouse stuck in a mousetrap oO I like to think that he brought it home because he thought it was interesting, and that maybe we would like to see :)
Wow, you're lucky yours give you dead animals. Mine bring in live snakes, moles, shrews, insects, geckos, birds...Trying to catch and get rid of them is tough! Also, one of mine keeps bringing in food that we didn't buy; I guess he digs through rubbish (hopefully not stealing from neighbours' kitchens!)
Since my little guy is an indoor cat, he only puts his toys in my bed. Which is cute. I'm getting the feeling that when/if we move into the house my mom might be selling me, he'll be able to do that with mice...
Before my Smokey of 14 years passed :( He would meow soo loudly that you had to come and pick it up. Then he would watch you carry it, to the kitchen and put it in the pan, while making sizzling sounds over the stove to pretend you aren't cooking it. And I had to flip it in the pan and then he would walk away. If we didn't he would go ape-sh*t and tear the entire house up... Seriously he did. He knocked one of our bookshelves over.
my kitties are indoor, but Maggie our more calm cat brings us socks, and slippers sometimes a pair but first she'll bring one then an hour later the other, but when she brings them, she meows with it in her mouth as she is going down the stairs to the tv room, the meows till you thank her and say she's a pretty girl other wise she keeps meowing. sometimes this happens at night and someone has to get up and pet her. tee hee once she tried to carry our cat eve when she was a little kitten, eve didn't like that.
Once I found the head only of a mouse. But he tends to left some complete dead animals like birds and mouses. Only once, also, he bring and alive birds trough the window xD
I was outside barbecuing one night last summer and my cat jump over the fence and dropped 2 baby birds by my feet, poor lil things didn't even have any feathers :(
Hahahahahaha! Oh dear... I've been wanting to describe unidentifiable pieces of... organic matter, but never found a good way (don't wask me why I'd want to in the first place). That's the best visual image I've ever seen. :D
When I was still at school, my family lived in quite a rural area with three cats, one of which was an ex-tom who looked more like a puma than a domestic cat, albeit one that shrank in the wash a bit.
He was a fairly fearsome hunter and frequently showered us with the usual assortment of gifts, but one morning I opened the front door to find something a little bigger than usual.
You see, it was spring and lambing season was underway... We had to hide the evidence but we evidently got away with it. All in all, it went much better than when his mother got into the neighbour's pidgeon loft.
I used to have a cat who brought things in all the time. Once she brought me a baby rabbit, on another occasion she brought home a live duckling! She was such a mighty hunter. (Though I felt bad for all the dead and not quite dead critters...)
