Just to let you know, if you're wondering why all of a sudden the tone of the CvsH FB Page has changed is because it's been hacked. I NEVER ever post work of others without their permission or credit, and I don't share memes.
I'm currently working on FB to retrieve it, and I'm gathering paperwork in the process.
I've kind of disappeared because, well, it's upsetting. Similar things have happened before. When I ran aprintaday, a LOT of my artwork was taken by other companies and used on their merchandise. In this case, the CvsH FB Page was taken from me. But fortunately, FB gave me instructions on how to get it back.
That's what's going on right now. But hey, at least I still have this site and I can still share my comics. And if you're part of my secret cat lady group, that has NOT been hacked. Just the FB Page.
Anyway, thanks for all your support and concerned emails. I really appreciate it as always.

DeleteSomeone who also tried to warn people about the theft of the page who was also probably blocked from commenting (one of many) in the comments of the Facebook posts when the thief started posting referenced this group in the comments.
I’ve been volunteering several days a week for five and a half years at an indoor feral cat colony and have lots of pics and stories.
Please let us know here when you get it back because I had to unsubscribe from the page, it was so spammy. I wanted to report it somehow, but FB wouldn't let me unless I was the owner.

ReplyDeleteHackers have a variety of ways to break into social media accounts, but we can use this as a teaching moment.
ReplyDeleteUse long, complicated passwords on social media and email accounts. The latter since they are used by hackers to reset your social media passwords.
A password manager helps. Personally, I use LastPass and Bitwarden.
Enable two-factor authentication (2FA). I use a Yubikey on desktop and laptop use, and a TOTP application, e.g., LastPass Authenticator and Bitwrden, for mobile and portable use. Duo and Authy are also good options.
2FA makes logging in more complicated, but if a hacker gets your password, they won't have your Yubikey or your TOTP application to be able to complete the login.
Sending codes via SMS is the least secure method, but it is better than nothing.
Hope our page gets restored soon! I’ve been reporting posts, and was vocal about the page theft in the comments for the posts until the thief disabled me from posting comments.
