We used to stay in an upstairs unit of an old Victorian building. The floors were hardwood and the walls were very thin. I hated being the upstairs neighbor because I knew the people downstairs could hear my cats scamper on the floor. And they would often do it at night!

One more thing! All the items in the CvsH shop are 25% off 'til February 15. The discount code is LITTLEPAWS.
:3
The Maine Coon from the print looks absolutely adorable. :3 I love Maine Coons.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I love them too :)
ReplyDeleteI am in the same situation right now. I'm a downstairs neighbor and my upstairs neighbor's puppies are loud! They're adorable though.
ReplyDeleteOh God... this is happening to me right now... that's why I am awake! LOL
ReplyDeleteI have a kitty who likes to chase and be chased by my upstairs roommate's cats but on the hardwood floors above my downstairs roommate. So they basically bother everybody. Sounds like an elephant stampede.
ReplyDeleteYeah...I guess "pitter patter" is an understatement :P
ReplyDeleteOur upstairs neighbors are squirrels in the attic. This is exactly like my husband and I in bed. Me: "Awwww sweetie listen to how much fun they're having! I think they're rolling an acorn around up there! Aww they're preparing for winter!" Him: o_o "......."
ReplyDeleteI feel bad for our neighbors too because my kitty turns into a stallion once midnight hits..thankfully my downstairs neighbor has cats too.
ReplyDeleteOh, so true and adorable! My two have an obsession for skittering on hardwood floors. Fortunately, I no longer flat-share but we would frequently hear crashing in the night, and would marvel at the mischief they got up to. We were the only student accommodation without mice, though :-D
ReplyDeleteI always wonder what our cat sounds like to the people below us...especially when she jumps off the top of her scratching tree. lol
ReplyDeleteHaha :D That's what MY downstair neighbours hear all the time.. including 2 a.m. :D
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for that discount option, now it was even worth to order it to the other side of the world ^^
Hhahaha that is super ironic because my neighbor in the apartment that shares a stairwell with us brought home a kitten this week!! I guess it meowed when she was bringing it in because my roommate was like "Did you hear that?! There's a cat in the hallway!"
ReplyDeleteThere are six dogs and ten cats that live in my building, it's gotten to the point that you don't hear the pitter patter anymore, but you notice it's absence in a rare moment of silence! Good thing we're all a bunch of animal lovers!
ReplyDeleteI used to live in an apartament that they have dogs upstairs...for some unknown reason I always thought the dogs were trying to reach China at night while digging :D
ReplyDeleteThis used to happen to us. We lived upstairs and the downstairs tenant complained about my 3 running and making noise. He also claimed he could hear me walking. Very grateful for single-family homes!!!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteWe have children living above us. And they get up very early and they have a scooter to push around.
ReplyDeleteMy upstair neighbours have a big dog... a young big dog...
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! (and I love cats, so I love-love your blog).
ReplyDelete:)
PPLLEAASSE give us more choice for the tee's! I already own one of your "I like cake!" tee's, but I would love to buy another with something else written on it! =)
ReplyDeleteI *just* discovered this blog tonight and have been completely irresponsible for any and all obligations... no work, no dishes, and certainly no bedtime until I read everything. I don't get to laugh this hard regularly, and laugh until tears are pouring down my cheeks and I've annoyed my own little darlings with the noise. So good to see there is a big 'ole cat crazy tribe out there... This is just fabulous. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
ReplyDeleteThis happened to me!!!! I thought it was cute too.

HI folks-although this comment IS a month late, I wanted to say that myself and "Twitty-Kat", AKA Sita, (who hasn't kept up with her blog or twitter for a few years ;), just found your blog through ModernCat today. I presently live upstairs in a loft over what used to be a business. (in the process of trying to find another apt. They're tearing the building down to make a bigger, more than a studio, loft & business downstairs, building.), and my Sita LOVES to play "soccer", up and down my 50ft long hallway during the day. The owner & girls who worked down there got such a kick out of listening to Sita-sounding like a Clydesdale-as she bantered, or, not sure what it's called, but running down the hall, batting her ball as if she were dribbling, perfectly, from her left paw to her right paw, until she victoriously ended up in her "goal" at the end of the hallway, flopped down, and put her paw on the ball, awaiting me to wrestle it away from her, then throw, or kick it, down to the other end-where she runs, jumps, and most times, catches it in her mouth and drops it-starting the dribbling all over again. When I'm physically able to, I'll also try & steal it as she passes it between her paws. ;). The former owner of the building began buying her balls every few months-"cookies" more often. Hehee, we STILL play like that-just not as often as both of us would like to. Anyways, Thank You for your cute cartoons, and when I can afford it, I'll definitely have to get one of your T-Shirt designs!! I LOVE the illustration in top right-handed corner. That's Sita, especially when I'm I'll or injured; nutty cat will NOT leave my side...or lap!! She's currently wrapped around my leg as I lay in bed-ad I have to go potty... I'd never had a "house" cat before & NEVER got attached to ANY of my former critters as I have Sita. (of course it's just her & me 99% of the time-no friends or family within several thousand miles, and can't drive because of glaucoma. I'm basically bedridden most of the day, except for doctors appointments. And when I get home from a doctor or visit to the hospital? She practically knocks me down, jumps into my arms, kisses me, jumps down & starts biting my ankles....she's a trip!!)
ReplyDeleteI'm a student living on campus in an apartment style dorm this year. The guy who lived in the room directly above mine (he has since moved into my apartment) has a therapy kitten who would engage crazy-wild-battle-cat mode at random. Usually rather late. He was always so worried that I was bothered by the noise, so he would apologize to me all the time, but every time I heard the kitten it just made me happy! I could picture him tearing around the room and running into walls (he's not the smartest/most graceful cat in the world) and it made me smile!
