My favourite part is when Oscar looks behind the mirror to see if the other kitty is there :)

LOL So cute <3
ReplyDeleteMaking friends??!? More like FIGHTING HIS EVIL TWIN.
ReplyDeleteCats and mirrors are so cute.
So cute. I have a similar story.
ReplyDeleteNot an animal, but my nephew. lol.
when he was like 9-10 months old and you held him up to a mirror he always went "heeeeey", very happily, and tried to look behind the mirror to see this other baby.
My boy kitty scratches on the mirror on my dresser. It is cute.
ReplyDeletegenial!! siempre es divertido ver esos comics de los gatitos! XD
ReplyDeleteI also like it when the cat tries to get the mirror people to play with him. ("My people are just sitting there reading. Maybe i can get mirror people to get up and play!")
ReplyDeleteWhen my cat was little he used to check behind the mirror too!
ReplyDeleteMy cat doesn't pay any attention to mirrors...unless she figures out they're reflecting light on the wall or ceiling. I think she may be weird...
ReplyDeleteOH GOD puffed up kitty is my favorite :D
ReplyDeleteteeheehee so cute
ReplyDeletewhat entertainment you must have
So cute! My big dog attacks mirrors, not so cute, but its funny to see him get confused when he looks behind.
ReplyDeletemy cats check behind the telly as well!
ReplyDeletehaha. my cat does this only when I put my makeup on in the mirror. He bops the reflection on its silly head...
ReplyDeleteMy cats used to look behind the mirror too. I have a dog now (sorry), and he looks behind the TV when there's a dog barking in a movie. Animals are too funny.
ReplyDeletechujowe
ReplyDeleteI wish my cats did this. I try to hold them up to the bathroom mirror but they just stare at it and then me, like, "Yeah, so? It's a freakin' mirror! PUT ME DOWN!"
ReplyDeleteOne of my kitties does that all the time. <3 I love them so much!
ReplyDeletemy cats just stare into space when i hold them up to a mirror. then they try to get away from me. no big deal.;)
ReplyDeleteMy cat used to dig at the mirrors to get into the room, but he more or less ignored the mirror cat.
ReplyDelete*SQUEEEEEEEEEEE* Oscar! <3
ReplyDeletesitting like that on your couch can really mess up your back.
ReplyDeleteand my cat will look in the mirror to stare at me even though I'm right next to her.....weird.
Alex
love your posts. please, read this article about cats and humans! is awesome: http://www.motherboard.tv/2011/12/12/toxo-terror-are-our-brains-controlled-by-cat-loving-parasites
ReplyDeletei really love how young kittens are all puffed up, soft and fuzzy ;) it looks perfect here!
ReplyDeleteI have a pretty princess kitty that will sit on my vanity and stare at herself out of the corner of her eyes, blinking her eyes like she's trying to mate with the beautiful kitty 'over there' or even sometimes she'll 'touch noses' with it and once I think she tried to sniff the 'other kitty' back side.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, I cannot figure out why my cats are mostly unimpressed with themselves in a mirror. Maybe it's because there is no different smell?
My Eka also does that. Looks at herself in the mirror then hops at the back. :)))
ReplyDeleteim pretty sure my kitty understood how a mirror works... it was kinda creepy how smart she was. i miss my little smarty cat so friggin much.
ReplyDeleteYou guys have such smart cats! It's actually a sign of intelligence in an animal if they're interested in their reflection. None of my cats have ever understood that there are people and objects in the mirror :) They never even look that way let alone understand their reflection looks like a living cat.
ReplyDeleteMy cat tries to get behind my laptop when I play cat sounds on youtube, though, so maybe he's not complitely stupid :) Also when I play bird sounds he sometimes tries to find the birds. Maybe he's just more audial than visual.
Maybe some cats aren't interested because they've already seen a mirror in their previous home and aren't excited anymore because they know what the deal is. My cat is a stray and was over two years old when we saved him. He may have had a home before and maybe at that time he got excited about mirrors and hopped back like we've seen in so many cute videos when mirror is introduced to a kitten for the first time.
