  2. HA! I find my kitties like to hawk their hairballs up at about 2 a.m. Just when I've fallen asleep, but not deeply enough that the gagging doesn't wake me up. I usually hear it, and think "really, if I get out of bed there's little chance I'll be able to move the kitty to a floor surface so clean up is easier" ... so I stay in bed and go back to sleep. When I wake up the next morning, I often forget about the night before and step right into the still pasty hairball. Yep, you haven't had a fun experience unless you've gone hopping on one foot to the bathroom to wash the puke off.

  3. This is actually the last time I'm having carpet. Puke and hairballs are a pain to take off.

  6. It doesnt matter even if we move oir kitties to a floor sirface. They always go back to the caroeted surface. Also, they enjoy coughing up on pur new couch. -.-; we should have gotten the warranty.

  9. Cabbit has decided that leaving them in a dark stairway for me to find when I go up for breakfast is a good idea. I usually go barefoot in the house but I think it's time to bring the slippers out of hiding if this continues! (Cabbit hates my slippers, they are cartoonish raccoons, complete with tails)

  10. My cat decided to hairball right next to my face, and I somehow didn't wake up. It was awesome rolling into that the next morning :(

  12. I don't know if you know about such thing, but there are gels and treats against hairballs :)
My cat is 2 years old, he had only one hairball when he was only a few mths old, started giving him those treaties on a daily basis(which he adores really much :) sometimes when I arrive home, I find my drawer open, and all the treats spilled out, and about half of them disappeared :D) and he didn't have a hairball ever since :) it's cheap as well, changed from my currency, for you it would cost about 1,5 $ :)

  16. I eat hairball dissolving kibbles, Gimpet Malt Soft Extra and catgrass every day, still I pack out once a week. Lizzy never does. Vet checked me out, no medical problems. Some cats are like that, they cleanse regularly, while others don't.

  17. this is so true! sometimes i also risked serious injuries by sliding barefoot in the dark on freshly spitted hairballs.

  18. Yuck. Our cats never coughs up any hair balls, but they make up for it by throwing up their food at least once a week (a vet checked them out and they're healthy, they just throw up a lot). One hides when throwing up, the other prefers to throw up in our bed, when we're sleeping.

My boyfriend claims that one of his greatest achievment in his life was when he woke up hearing a cat gag, then somehow managed to catch all the puke in his hand.

    Ick.

  19. I have carpet and if I see the cat starting to hack up anything I move her to the kitchen but she goes right back to the carpet. I guess its a good thing that I have a dog that will sit right beside of her and wait for her to cough the hairball up then eat it. Its gross but its clean up that I don't have to deal with to much

  24. Oh dear! So far my cat has not thrown up the dreaded hair-ball. Yet. It will get very 'exciting' when he does.
Btw I love how in every illustration you perfectly capture a cat's indifferent attitude -engrossed in licking his nether regions! Haha!. So darn true!

  31. I had to store this really nice rug I got from Muji since my cat seems to enjoy hurking her hair balls on it the most.

I caught her once when I was groggy from sleep about to hurk on the bed beside me, was lucky enough to gently set her down on the floor and allowed her to hurk her hairball, then cleaned it up. Had a hard time going back to sleep though.
