  1. My old family cat (who totally had it out for me!) would hide behind a laundry basket waiting for me. Seriously...everyone else in the family would walk past her and nothing. Then I come by and ATTACK MODE ACTIVATED!!!

  2. I don't have a facebook (I know I know) so I can't RSVP. But I'll be there with my aunt. We're both big fans. Glad you're coming to Phoenix!!!

  4. I'm going to your book signing! We always go to Scottsdale during Thanksgiving so good timing.

  5. Our cats like to hang out chairs the dining table chairs and swipe at our legs as we walk past! They're lazy, so it's the perfect place to relax and attack!

  6. The bluff is much used in here, my two cats use it while "fighting" with each other, as well as curtain camoflage. That poor curtain has bunch of holes, due to cats trying to fight through it. :D

  8. My BFF's turtle dose the "death by carpet"-thingy, and the worst part is probably that it hisses at me whenever I walk to close to it O_o

  9. HA! Love it. Glad my kitty is slightly more mellow and is even afraid of the Snuggie.
Also, will you be coming to Chicago anytime?

  10. I laughed so hard at the side to side hop. My old cat used to do that all the time, funniest thing ever!

  11. It kills me that, in your comics, the yellow kitty is the restless one. I have a yellow tabby and it behaves exactly the same. Like a furry tornado.

  12. My cat used to wait behind the roof's door like a stone, but when someone opened the door, the cat attacked the legs =D

  13. We have a sofa. She swipes our feet from underneath when she was young. Now she uses ALL kinds of tactics now that she grew up. Every box, everything that have underside, is possibly ambush site. Carpet attack is no exception, but she has a variant different from yours because she doesn't trip us, but claws us as soon as we pass her. Not to mention that we have rats in the house as well as many dummy targets for practice (and toy), and a "rage box" for her to bite on. She's a nemesis for all kinds of pests.

I can't imagine what would happen if we owned more than one cat. She's looking at me right now; I don't know if she's going to attack again so ...

  15. Thanks for making me laugh and smile this morning. Your book and your blogs are parallel to my life with my cats, you are definitely kindred spirits of mine. My husband and I had to tragically and surprisingly put our orange kitty (we had 3 kitties too) to sleep Friday after taking him to the vet, he had to have emergency surgery and couldnt be saved. Its been really hard and I was hoping I would wake up today to one of your blogs so I could laugh and there it was..I know you could probably relate so I just really wanted to say THANK YOU for sharing your kitty adventures with us all, most of us appreciate it more than you know...

  16. My kitty prefers to act sweet and innocent until you reach down to pet her and then Chomp!

  19. While we're not fortunate enough to be able to attend, Yasmine, I am howling with laughter over your latest, especially the FACE in #3 of "The Bluff" *PRICELESS*
Heartfelt condolences to Jenn and fams above, on their loss. <3((((((((^^))))))))<3

  20. Like a commenter above I had to say goodbye to my dear Alonzo 3 weeks ago today due to end stage kidney failure. It was sudden onset and tragic. Yesterday though two new little kittens (9 weeks) came into our lives and already they have exhibited signs of all of these. They especially love to attack toes from under the bed so I've taken to doing the leap like one does for the monster under the bed. In my case there are two.

  21. You forgot about the wiggle-butt. That's the best one.

  22. Our oldest cat used to hide in the hamper and attack us when we walked by - we always called it the "trap door spider" game. Even if the lid was on the hamper he'd still lunge out with perfect timing. Impressive! ;)

  23. teeheehee
the wiggles tushie pre attack mode is the best!

  24. I may add the "Morning Reaper" and the "Danger S" (quickly sidestepping between your legs as you walk by)

  25. The side to side hop is so funny!!! :)

  26. They get me with the under the bed swipe every time!

  27. Our cat does the side-to-side-hop as well. It is so funny, specially when she changes her mind and rather run away. :)

Her new attack mode is the following: she is walking by and suddenly jumps up to your hip height and lands 3 or 4 punches on you. After this she simply walks away. :)

  28. Death by stairs. I have a dark-gray colored cat that must race me down the stairs, every time, and wins by cutting me off mid-step. It's even deadlier in the dark. I call it "the gray streak of death."

I think it's part of the ritual whereby he is trying to train me to stay home. :D

  29. i always see that forward lunge when our cat will see a flashlight dancing in front of her.

  30. OMG! Your pictures are so accurate. Please draw the "under the bed swipe" sometime!!!!

In my house the "under the bed swipe" graduated to the "under the bed pounce", as my cat waits for me to go to bed, watches as I carefully tuck my feet under my doona (for safety - since his second favourite game is to eat my feet), and then dives from under the bed, up to my pillow to bite my face.
It's always funtimes and ALWAYS makes me feel so relaxed and ready for sleep...

  31. Our cat Zoey also loves to zoom across our Monopoly game board when ever it's out. lol she is the destroyer of games

  32. The side to side-hop is called "flamenco dancing" by my mum. And "the sudden running into a room all puffed and then running away and dicing into a carpet" is called "hyper-seizure"

  33. My dad once was cat sitting for two white Persians. The folks he sat for even had him stay the night there to keep the puddies safe.

At any rate, a burglar broke in while he was there, and the cats, using the watchtower of a 7 foot armoire in the living room, lunged onto said burglar. One landed on his face and tried to gouge out his eyes, the other landed on his shoulders and slid, claws first down his back. By the time my father appeared with a baseball bat, the thief was ready surrender... as long as he got the cats to stop attacking him!

Me: (goes to get kibble and keeps book opened) Kittys: (rips book apart and rips pages) Me: (comes in and drops kibble all over and screams!) BAD KITTYS!!!!

  35. I've had the watch tower happen to me on several occasions, as I like to keep the air flowing throughout all of my house. So one of my cats, being the sneaky monster it is likes to wait for me on the tops of some of the doors. I literally have no idea how he gets up there.
