Haha yes we have to kind of shape ourselves around our two. Poppy sleeps on my head and whenver I move she follows me so she can still sleep on my head. Basil is a huge cat and if he sleeps on my side of the bed I have to lie at an awkward angle to ensure I'm not kicking him. Couple that with my fiance who thinks our bed is too small and keeps shoving me over and I'm barely clinging onto the matress lol!
Sparkle is right. Nothing less than a California King bed will do for cats. And Mel, your bed probably looks exactly like ours -- 8 cats here, too, with one holdout. The other 7 can often be found velcro-ed on to head, sides, and back. VERY warm and soft and cuddly<3
sometimes when i get out of bed in the middle of the night to use the bathroom my cat crawls into my spot on the bet next to my husband. and gets clearly perturbed when i try to move him (he will bite me! not hard, but in a don't-move-me-i'm-cozy-puhleeeeeeze way).
We gave up on "normal" and put the two queen mattresses in the house on the floor together in our master bedroom. It looks like some sort of weird travel hostel each night rather than where grown up, married people sleep -- but it accommodates 2 humans and 2 cats quite nicely. Each creature gets half of a bed - perfect :)
My goodness your blog is phenomenal :) Thank you so much for following mine, that way I discovered you and I'm so glad I did! Your illustrations are fun and very enjoyable. Have a lovely sunday! Ale
One of the biggest arguments that my new husband and I ever had was the sleeping situations with the animals. I have always snuggled my kitty at night. When Jon came over as my BF he would put kitty on the floor...and kitty would holler all night and destroy something in protest. We went back and forth as we moved in our stuff together about kitty's sleeping arrangements. We left kitty at my mother's house from Thanksgiving until new yeras hoping to break him of sleeping with mama (me). His first month in our new apartment he slept well, after that though, he is back to begging to get on the bed. Meow meow meow, everynight. and ROW ROW ROW every morning when jon gets in the shower and I "sleep" a few extra minutes.
A few nights ago, I put a blanket on my side because I was cold (and David wasn't). That blanket turned out to be a cat magnet! Both Dante and Dimitri slept on the blanket (hence, on me). I never used it again, the cats are too heavy! :p
i find myself positioning my legs and arms 'around' my two kitties if they're lying in bed before me.... I just feel bad when I have to move them!! actually, I'm scared to move them so they don't wake up and start wrestling eachother at midnight !! hehe
I find it fascinating how your cats are drawn so simply, but I find them so incredibly CUTE and cuddly!
ReplyDeleteHumans: if you want more room, get a bigger bed! We kitties need to be able to stretch out!
ReplyDeleteHi! I just wanted to let you know that I love your blog! The cartoons make me laugh every time.
ReplyDeleteThat is so true. My cats - 8 of them - pretty much own my bed... I'm just in their way, aren't I?
ReplyDeleteHere's a pix of them having a "conference" on my bed - just when it's bedtime for me:

(Needless to say, I had little sleep that night.)

ReplyDeleteme and my bf sometimes only get half the bed because of our ONE cat, but 3 cats and a dog......?
ReplyDeletei can only imagine.
I love your blog. Everything is true :-)
ReplyDeleteWe have the same problem with bed. Our five cats can take all the place.
My cat sleeps on my back/chest every. single. night. It makes me feel really warm and sometimes I hate it, but for the winter, it's wonderful!
ReplyDeleteMy cat only does that in the mornings. My huge bed apparently belongs to her, the under average sized black kitty, and will glare until I leave.
ReplyDeletehaha! they think they own everything!
ReplyDeleteor maybe they do O_o

ReplyDeleteHahaha! Love this...My cats take up so much of the bed, it's a wonder they even allow me to sleep on the edge.
ReplyDeleteI totally understand this one, too! Haha!
