I have that stupid battery operated toy. It scared the hell out of my cats and is now collecting dust in my storage room. Milk bottle rings though.. those are THE most coveted cat toys here! (along with boxes and my hair clippies)
yup! tissue paper wrap, packing peanuts, bubble wrap, paper bags...
actual cat toys are pretty secondary. though my cat money LOVES this green plushie ball with grosgrain ribbons. i've bought him so many toys yet he loves that gross little thing. it's like his best friend which he LOVES batting under the oven and trying to get out.
jenna: totally! those carton cap twistie things are awesome!
i love reading these comments about quirky things other cats do. hehehe.
of course my cats totally love cardboard boxes. they look sleeping on them. sleeping in them. laying next to them, you name it. it's totally adorable though :)
I love the kitty playing with the spider! Similarly, I had bought one of those automatic litter box thingies (I had five kitties at the time). One of them refused to use it so I had to also put a regular litter box back out. Once that happened NONE of them would go back near the automatic one :o( i ended up selling it on craigslist...man it would have been great if they would have liked it. Oh well.
I know this is an old post but I thought I'd share. :D My family has a 'redneck kitty condo' built out of plastic milk crates that are zip tied together. We hung various feathery cat toys off of it, and put cushions in the crates. My cat is in there constantly and it only cost us about $20 tops.
Mine are obsessed with straws!! Even if they have one already and there is one in a cup they try to take the ones out of the cups and occasionally my one cat, bunky, puts it in his water bowl. Smart kitty!! LOVE this blog.
hehe i love the happy face on the grey cat :)
ReplyDeletemy mum always gets my cat a xmas presents & every year she play with the paper instead! ;) hehe

ReplyDeleteCardboard keeps them away from your furniture!!! =D
this works for some kids as well if the box is big enough...
ReplyDeleteMy cat fell in love with one of my makeup brushes. She kept sneaking into the bathroom to steal it, so I had to just give it to her.
