My house smells like bubble gum and rainbows. I hope.

I'll be doing a little series on cat ladies (and gents) this week, starting with the above comic.

I have an fb group now. Feel free to join. I will be posting updates here. You can post your kitty photos too if you'd like :)

p.s. To all of you to went to the SD Comicon, I am jealous. That is all.

  6. Oh my God, you've been to my apartment, haven't you? ;-)

And to "Anonymous" up there - I have a broken cat with anxiety issues, and unless I want to put him on Xanex, he pees everywhere. I know that's not normal, and yeah, it's kinda gross, but I really don't want a doped up kitty. He's so sweet...just broken. (And to answer all questions: he's fixed; we clean the litter everyday; it's not a bladder infection or UTI; he's not an old cat, and he's done this his whole life anyway; he's not marking, he's peeing; and we have a Feliway plugged in which helps only in certain rooms). *whew* I think that covers it!

  7. @becki: i once had a "broken" cat too. and no matter how much we cleaned the litter, he would just...go.

i also had 8 cats once...maintenance of litterboxes becomes a bit of a challenge at that point. i just have 3 cats now so it's a lot easier :)

  8. But you don't smell the pee. Just other people. Other people without cats. My boyfriend walks into my apartment and says it smells like cat litter. I smell the plug-in next to the litter box.

  9. It's 5:30 am and this just gave me a much needed lol. ^_^ We have 3 cats and two have litter "issues." One had urinary problems when she was young and the other just likes to pee on soft stuff, such as laundry, pillows, blankets, the couch, our mattress, etc.

I do my best to clean everything, but yeah, our home usually smells like cat pee and glade plug-ins. *^_^* Glad that I'm not alone!!

  10. :D love your comic, for those with smelly houses I recommend odor patrol or similar odor removing sprays, they work wonders :D

  12. Oh god, Glade plug-ins... as typical as a smoker's car that smells of plushy vanilla dice. Eek!

  13. This is too true..we have 5 cats and we try to be diligent about the litter clean up..we scoop and change frequently..sometimes it seems all I smell is air freshener and litter box..not a good combo! Love your comics..so clever and purrfect for all us crazy cat people!!

  15. i wonder about this every day! my friends never say anything... i like to think it's because my house is super clean, but it being small with 6 cats, i have 5 litterboxes and the smell of litter just seems to seep out.
i hope a bigger house will one day fix this. btw my cats don't pee on my stuff either! well except one sometimes, but he has FLUTD

  16. i have had my kitty now a bit more than 4 months. if i'm at home i don't smell anything, but coming home after a longer time (longer than one hour it is) i do, and have to think about the visitors every time. some of them show they don't like it even if they don't say anything. they just twist their nose. it's silly to feel bad about it, but i'd so like to have a clean home....

my kitty occasionally pees on things, if i have forgotten to clean his litter, or if i have not cleaned up my own mess. i just recently cleaned a pile of empty plastic bags he had used as a secondary toilet, and i of course don't smell it over all the cat food in kitchen (i have only a small apartment), mainly that food that i had to throw away and rots in bio trash. but as a rule if your kitty is not sick or apparently demonstrating against you trying to take back your favourite chair it's your own fault if they pee on things or the floor. they are disturbed by human dirt and think it's then ok for them too..

right now my furball is not at home but i feel like he's here, odd. he was found in winter and i got him from animal rescue, he needs medication and a special diet food to maintain mobility. he's still young so he will eventually learn what i don't want him to do. but i still have to keep it cleaner in kitchen and around his eating place..

  18. There're scent sprays that eliminate the smell and not just mask it. :)
