Even strays manage to make me feel inferior.

  1. Obviously you have to caress the chin :]

  2. This makes me think so much of Bella Mae right now. I would feed her all the good brands of dry food, moist food, etc. and she would shun them or eat them half-heartedly....now...Good Life Recipe. She eats it like there is no tomorrow and she purrs and is happy. Come on! I've been told that it's because she's an 'Alley Cat' and I'm just too high class. :P

  7. okay. i LOVE that #1) you have treats in your handbag in this cartoon and #2) that this cat is like homeless ppl in NYC. You try to give them food and they won't take it before they know what it is (one actually said to me "i had Chinese for lunch") LOLOLOL

  8. Gentlecats of the road always insist on nothing but the very best. A chin rub, a safe, warm forever home. Oh, and Greenies.

  9. i think greenies may be the favourite...

  12. Our newest stray was on the streets eating mice and birds, we took him in and put him on the same fancy food as our other cats. It made him ill! Had to spend loads at the vets on new special diets coz the food was too rich for him and made him ill. Poor thing.

  13. I agree with Elle - not many cats can resist Temptations! Mine think they are kitty crack! Oh, and these new gems called My Mighty Lion. They're soft, and stinky treats. My cats love 'em!

  14. my cats like stinky treats too. the stinkier, the better O_o

  15. You're not alone ... making humans feel inferior is one of the primary commandments in the cat rule book.

  16. we totally found a stray not too long ago - she was just hobbling around so we coaxed (not really hard to) her into a carrier to bring her to the vet. i thought she was a kitten she was so tiny. she was only 5 pounds. we found out she is about 12-15, only has her four front teeth, has a thyroid problem and doesnt have aids or leukemia! so we have her on our carport in a fancy lidded litter box thing, with a huge extension cord (that is breaking our door) hooked to a very fancy and expensive pet heater that doesnt turn off. she is living the life - and must be deaf because she mews at the top of her lungs whenever she sees us and we dont have noms for her. but i cant blame her, shes probably had a not so fun life, and shes still probably only less than 6 pounds still - we call her raggedy ann - and apparently, she is now our third kitty

  17. That happens to me too! The thing is that, strays and feral cats are not used to canned food or cat treats! :( Sometimes I buy stray dogs and cats those types of food, and they just walk away! Even though I know they are hungry. I've learned that is best to walk with a can of chicken or sausages!

  18. Silly human. Cats are health conscious, and eat only the best (tasting that is) food.

  23. Oh my gosh this is hilarious! This happened to me once! I was at home with my sister and cat, it was about 10pm and our sliding glass doors were closed but we had the curtains opened. All of a sudden I see this monster grey fluff silent meowing at me. I go outside to pet him and his coat is so matted and he's meowing and meowing and MEOWING and rubbing all over me. So I think he must be telling me he's starving because it looks like he's been on his own for a while. I go inside and grab a can of wellness cat food and come back out with it all on a paper plate. I set it down for him and he sniffs it and walks away!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? My sister died laughing because she always says that the "good expensive food probably tastes like crap" (because Im always talking it up). This proved her right, and she never lets me live it down :/

  25. Gen Whitmore, online cartoonist, recommended human-grade dried bonito (It's a fish.) flakes, in a big, zip-seal bag, shipped cheaply from Asia. Both cats love them, and the son goes crazy over them, going for the bag. I have to store it out of reach.
